P6 Recovery Schedules

When a project falls behind, the worst response is a prettier version of the schedule that already failed. DCESM builds recovery schedules in Primavera P6 that start from what has actually happened — demonstrated production rates, real remaining scope, the true critical path — and lay out realistic paths back to the date, each with its cost and risk. Contract-compliant, submittal-ready, and defensible in front of an owner or agency.

What you get

Schedule health assessment

The current schedule audited first: broken logic, out-of-sequence progress, consumed float, and where the real critical path runs today.

As-built vs. baseline analysis

What actually happened versus what was planned — quantified by activity, so the recovery plan starts from truth, not hope.

Resequencing & acceleration options

Concrete recovery paths — resequencing, trade stacking, crew loading, added shifts — each priced with its schedule gain, cost, and risk.

Native P6 build & updates

Recovery schedule built natively in Primavera P6 (.xer deliverables), maintained through progress updates until the date is secure.

Agency-compliant submittals

Recovery schedules formatted to owner and agency specifications, including federal and DOT CPM scheduling requirements.

Lookaheads tied to recovery

Three-week lookaheads that translate the recovery plan into what each trade does this week — so the plan leaves the office and reaches the field.

Built for the people on the hook

General contractors staring down liquidated damages, owners and developers whose completion date is slipping and who need a credible plan — not promises, and agencies or construction managers who need a contract-compliant recovery schedule submittal reviewed or produced on projects anywhere in the country.

DCESM is a Central Valley organization with 20+ years of hands-on construction experience, serving clients nationwide — on time and on budget.

Common questions

What is a recovery schedule?

A recovery schedule is a re-planned CPM schedule showing how a behind-schedule project gets back to its required completion date — through resequencing, acceleration, or re-allocation of crews — while staying within the contract's scheduling requirements. Many contracts require one whenever the project falls a set number of days behind.

Do you work natively in Primavera P6?

Yes — schedules are built and maintained in P6, with .xer files delivered so your team or the owner's scheduler can open, review, and update them directly. We also work in Microsoft Project when the contract calls for it.

How fast can you turn a recovery schedule around?

A schedule health assessment typically lands within days of receiving your current .xer and progress records. A full recovery schedule follows based on project size — fast enough to respond to a cure notice or an owner's recovery demand.

How is this billed?

Hourly, like all of our scheduling work. You'll get a rough estimate of hours up front based on the schedule's size and condition, then work is billed as it proceeds.
